DIRECTOR FRITZ YNFANTE'S NEW WAVE STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Director Fritz Ynfante creates a new wave stations of the cross at the Philippine Center for St. Pio, Libis, Quezon City for this Holy Week.

Director Fritz really gives his always and ever creative and imaginative mind to this work just for the Filipinos most specially and even for the tourists who want to commemorate the death of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Director Fritz hired a 22 yr old student, Jarren Rodriguez, as a model who's features were not the usual being compared with the image of dear Jesus. Jarren  had undergone through the hands of some master prosthetic artists like John Ray Sarang who said that the prosthetic works for Jarren were really realistic.

Meanwhile, a cancer survivor named Teresita David, were hired by Director Fritz to be the Virgin Mary for the shoot. Teresita said that the moment she was offered the job she immediately said yes. She emotionally told the press that who was she to refuse  the job if our God gave her another life. The Virgin Mary image that Teresita portrayed was also unusual for she was more older-looking than the common Virgin Mary images there are.

Besides from his unusual models, Director Fritz even put  Filipino touches for his exhibit. Like at the 8th station were his Jesus was walking at the market (palengke) and were 2 ladies in slippers with "bayong" and umbrella for the other lady saw him passed and another is  the filipiƱana costume for his Virgin Mary. Director Fritz said; " I want them either to love it or hate it, but I want an emotion out of them". The director also said that he really meant for the exhibit to be different, he said; " I want it to be timeless (walang panahon)......It is good yesterday, today, tomorrow". Director Fritz also said that he wants the guests to be left guessing once they saw the exhibit.

Chariman of the Chapel, Ramon Rodriguez, complimented the work of the director. He said that he really felt emotional when he saw the finished masterpiece. He also believes that the exhibit will be whole-heartedly embraced by the visitors and even teased the director to start thinking for next year's concept.

The whole exhibit is composed of 12 stations that has huge images from the shoot were all photography works were done by Mr. JR Rodruiguez. It is already open to the public until Friday from 6 am to 1 am at the Philippine Center for St. Pio, Libis, Quezon City.
