For the first time ever, America's Next Top Model held an all-stars cycle where the most fan-favorited hopefuls from the previous cycles (cycles 1-16) are invited to compete again for the prestigious title. This makes the competition, for me, the fiercest of all so far. But through the tough fight among the "stars", the judges were still able to break the girls down into 3 finalists namely as Lisa d'Amato, Allison Harvard and Angelea Preston. The finale were compose of a covergirl ad video and photo shoot and a very creative, magical and contemporary fashion show of a collection by Filipino designer, Michael Cinco.
But during the fashion show, at the back stage, Angelea's nerves was getting through her and at the end of the show, Angelea was sick and was rushed at the hospital via an ambulance. But what happened to her after that, it wasn't shown anymore by the ANTM Mgt.
Now, during the final judging, only Lisa and Allison was there. And Lisa was announced the winner. America and many people around the world celebrated Lisa but a lot also asked where is Angelea? What happened to her? And spread rumors was that Angelea really won the competition.
Years and new cycles have passed but the ANTM Mgt. didn't even speak about the questions and the rumors. And issues were left hanging and cooled down even.
But just recently, Angelea Preston breaks her silence in an interview at SireSays.com. She revealed that she's the real winner of the America's Next Top Model Cycle 17 All-Stars.
I can still remember during a small commentary at the Michael Jackson tribute episode where Latoya Jackson (MJ's sister) guested, who was also the one who saved both of the bottom two on that episode's elimination who were Lisa and Angelea, Angelea said "somebody saved me......It may be Latoya, It may be Michael, It may be Jesus.....but somebody wants me to be here". And so Angelea and Lisa stayed and even made it to the finale.
But it also seemed that somebody wants Angelea to be cut. And yes Angelea was removed from the show in a very good timing. She's been removed and been deprived with the title and its privileges even if she was already announced the winner, and the final judging was just reshot without Angelea.
It was rumored that Angelea was disqualified because she was pregnant with her son Eric or she spread some spoilers about the season's results on the social media. But Angelea told the interview that she did not said a word on the social media because that would be something stupid to do.
Angelea also told the interview that she really felt like hell about her disqualification. She pointed something that Tyra told Lisa when she win ("you have a past but you're not a victim of your past"), she said that it was hypocrisy. Tyra told Lisa the statement when she won but it also seems that the statement itself was the reason why Angelea was disqualified.
But the whole ANTM Mgt, including Tyra, the host herself, or even Angeleas co-finalists, haven't said a word about Angelea's statements. Until now, there's no words that would confirm wha really happened at the all-stars cycle.
Angelea is now writing a book about her life. And yes, her ANTM journeys would be there.
I just really hope that everything would be clear soon! Because the show is a goddamn iconic one and many remakes around the world had already been made.
I also think that Angelea Preston have a great chance of winning that cycle, and she showed it throughout the whole competition. She could really be the America's Next Top Model! So for Angelea, no matter what happened to you at the show, I congratulate you and I love you! Keep up your life and show the world what you are made of. Thank you and God bless Angelea! :)
